Jakarta E-Prix Returns, Governor Pramono: A Momentum to Boost the Green Economy
Jakarta will once again host the 2025 E-Prix Series under the theme “Electrifying the Future.”, marking the third Jakarta E-Prix after its successful debut in 2022 and 2023. The race will be held on 21 June 2025 at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit in Ancol, North Jakarta. Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, stated that Jakarta is proud to once again be the sole host of Formula E, the only host city in Southeast Asia. He called this a historic moment and a symbol of Jakarta’s progress as a global city. Governor Pramono further explained that Jakarta E-Prix 2025 presents a great opportunity to grow the green economy, strengthen Jakarta’s position as a global sports tourism destination, and raise public awareness about electric vehicles and environmental sustainability. On the same occasion, President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), iwan takwin, expressed gratitude for the provincial government’s support. He emphasized Jakpro’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful event. Formula E Co-Founder & Chief Championship Officer, Alberto Longo shared that the E-Prix is back in Jakarta thanks to the DKI Provincial Government’s strong commitment to green innovation in motorsports, along with multi-stakeholder support. Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) and Jakarta E-Prix Steering Committee, Ananda Mikola, added that the Jakarta E-Prix is an inclusive sportainment experience, complete with various pre-events to engage the public. He mentioned that IMI will deploy 400 local personnel as marshals who will oversee the race, from operators to every corner – all of them are local talents. Jakarta E-Prix 2025 is extra special as it coincides with Jakarta’s Anniversary and celebrates the city’s 500th year. The event also aligns with the city’s vision to join the Top 20 Global Cities by 2027. The Provincial Government invites everyone to support Jakarta as a dynamic, forward-looking global city and a pioneer in green urban living.
