Jakarta, May 28, 2025 – TransTRACK, a technology enabler company focused on digitizing vehicle fleet operations through fleet operation optimizer and supply chain integrator solutions, continues to strengthen its expansion into the regional halal market. In collaboration with Perbadanan Islam Johor (PIJ) Halal Ventures, TransTRACK held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled “International Halal Industry Collaboration – Johor and Indonesia,” attended by representatives from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS), and the ESQ Halal Center.
This Focus Group Discussion (FGD) is expected to serve as a strategic forum to discuss the harmonization of halal certification across countries, synergy in halal trade policies, and the role of technology in strengthening trust and traceability within the halal supply chain. This initiative is part of a broader strategic effort by the Johor State Government, through Perbadanan Islam Johor Halal Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (PHVSB), to implement a halal logistics monitoring system in Malaysia. As a key step, PHVSB established a partnership with TransTRACK, marked by the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement (Head of Agreement) in August 2024 to develop the Integrated Halal Logistics System (IHLS) and Halal Logistics Platform (HLP).
The global halal economy is projected to reach USD 5 trillion by 2030, driven by rising demand, increased awareness of halal standards, and trends in ethical consumption. This presents a strategic opportunity for both Indonesia and Malaysia to reinforce their roles as leaders in the global halal ecosystem.

Hari Setiawan, Chief Operating Officer of TransTRACK, shared that the FGD generated valuable insights. “One of the key takeaways from this discussion is the mutual understanding between Indonesia and Malaysia (specifically the state of Johor) that halal-certified products do not require recertification when entering a partner country, but only need to go through a registration process. This is a breakthrough for halal industry players and opens up opportunities for cross-border trade efficiency. Such collaboration must be continuously encouraged, including through MoUs and halal auditor training initiatives offered by BPJPH. Collaboration with halal logistics players in Indonesia will also begin soon, in line with the readiness of the Halal Logistics Association of Indonesia (AHLI), who also participated in the FGD, to build synergy between Indonesia and Johor in halal logistics.”

Aris Pujud Kurniawan, Co-founder and CTO of TransTRACK, emphasized the role of technology in developing the halal ecosystem. “From a technology standpoint, we see remaining gaps in real-time monitoring of halal logistics, even though halal-certified fleets and warehouses are already in place. There is still no integrated system that can track halal product movement and ensure proper distribution without contamination from non-halal goods. This is where TransTRACK comes in—as a system integrator bridging the needs of the industry and regulators to build a transparent, efficient, and reliable halal logistics ecosystem.”
Wan Aminudin Aminin bin Wan Sulaiman of Perbadanan Islam Johor Halal Ventures highlighted the importance of Indonesia–Malaysia synergy in developing the halal industry. “We hope an MoU between Johor and Indonesia can be realized soon, as both countries share a common vision to advance the halal industry. This would allow Malaysian products to be enjoyed in Indonesia and vice versa. We also hope to establish a warehouse or halal product distribution center to connect the two countries.”

TransTRACK’s initiative aligns with the Malaysia Halal Industry Master Plan 2030, which promotes cross-border collaboration and the development of regional halal logistics platforms. The focus on Johor’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ)—strategically located near Singapore and supported by advanced logistics infrastructure—is a key step toward building a more integrated, trusted, and globally connected Southeast Asian halal ecosystem.
Through this initiative, TransTRACK not only demonstrates its commitment to regional expansion but also solidifies its role as a strategic partner in developing international-standard halal logistics infrastructure to support industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and cross-border trade.
