Deputy Minister of Tourism Welcomes Official Visit from Jakpro, Formula E Operations (FEO), and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) to Discuss Jakarta E-Prix 2025

Jakarta, 4 June 2025 – Counting down the days to the Jakarta E-Prix 2025, the thirteenth round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Putu Elvina Jonita, welcomed a courtesy visit from PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro, along with representatives from Formula E Operations (FEO) and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI). The meeting explored strategic collaboration opportunities to jointly promote the Jakarta E-Prix as a global sportainment event that can boost city tourism while strengthening Indonesia’s positioning as a premier destination for international sportainment and attracting more global travelers.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, stated that this event is not merely a sporting competition, but also a strategic opportunity to promote Indonesian tourism on the global stage. “As an international-scale event, the Jakarta E-Prix attracts the attention of foreign tourists, global media, and the international motorsport community. Beyond that, the event generates economic benefits for local communities, from MSMEs and transportation to hospitality sectors. It also raises awareness about environmental issues through the use of sustainable technology in racing. We hope the Jakarta E-Prix can become an icon of Indonesian sport tourism and strengthen our position as a leading destination in the region—one that is not only naturally beautiful, but also advanced in innovation and sustainability.”

Ivan C. Permana, Project Director of the Jakarta E-Prix 2025, highlighted the importance of this event in elevating Indonesia’s tourism profile on the global stage. “Collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism(Kemenpar) will strengthen the positioning of the Jakarta E-Prix as an integral part of the national tourism ecosystem. Through this event, we aim to deliver a world-class sportainment experience while providing platforms for MSMEs, artists, and creative communities. It’s more than a race — it’s a global showcase for Jakarta.”

Gemma Roura, Project Director for Formula E Operations (FEO) in Jakarta, added, “We believe the Jakarta E-Prix is a strategic platform for the Ministry of Tourism to introduce Indonesia to global audiences. We are confident in delivering a world-class experience whose impact will go far beyond the racetrack, contributing real economic value to Indonesia, which continues to rise as a prime destination for sportourism.”

Lola Moenek, Deputy for Car Racing at the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Central Board, who attended the event on behalf of Bambang Soesatyo—Chairman of IMI and Steering Committee of the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix—and Ananda Mikola—Deputy Chair of IMI for Car Racing and Organizing Committee of the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix—expressed IMI’s full support for the upcoming race.

“This will be the third edition of Formula E in Jakarta, and as the national motorsport regulator, IMI is committed to ensuring that the event is conducted safely, professionally, and in a way that reflects Jakarta’s identity as an international host city. We take great pride in the fact that all marshals assigned to the race—400 highly trained Indonesian personnel, from operators to trackside officials—are homegrown talents. This demonstrates Indonesia’s preparedness and capabilities, which have been recognized by the FIA,” said Lola.
